Eco Design? |

As with most things affected by the current economic climate, the interior design industry has also seen a swing in direction.
The affect it’s having on people’s homes?
People are tending to spend more time in their homes, looking inwards for entertainment value which in turn has seen staple items like couches become more comfortable, less boxy with softer edges and designed to be ‘higher off the ground’. Dining tables are increasing in size to entertain larger numbers & more nights in rather than going out for dinner. People are also spending more money on good quality items with a view to keeping them for many years, so quality craftsmanship is being sought after. There is a high eco feel to the products being used which means more recycling or recovering old couches or chairs in your home.
IDEA! Consider re-upholstering your old sofa rather than spending heaps on buying a new one or re-lacquering your old dining table – Wenge is still a very popular colour for wood. It’s better for the environment and you can save yourself some money in the process.
